Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
ArtRoll ("we," "our," or "us") is a product of ATFO LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the ArtRoll application and website at myartroll.com.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you create an account and use ArtRoll:
- Account information — your email address, display name, and username when you register.
- Profile information — optional details such as a bio and profile photo that you choose to provide.
- Artwork logs — the artworks, notes, ratings, venues, dates, and other information you enter when logging art.
- Photos — images you upload to accompany your artwork logs.
- Direct messages — if you use ArtRoll's messaging feature, the content of messages you send and receive is stored so the conversation can be delivered and displayed to you and the recipient. Messages are private between the two participants and are not made public.
- Blocks and reports — if you block another user or report a message, we store that action so it can be enforced and, where relevant, reviewed.
- Location data — approximate location (city/venue) that you voluntarily enter when logging an artwork. We do not collect precise GPS location without your explicit permission.
- Usage data — basic information about how you interact with the app, such as which features you use.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the ArtRoll service
- Display your journal entries and allow you to share them with others
- Enable social features such as following other users, liking posts, commenting, and messaging
- Enforce blocks and review reports to keep messaging safe
- Send account-related emails (e.g. password reset, email confirmation)
- Improve and maintain the app
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
3. Data Storage and Security
ArtRoll uses Supabase to store user data and authentication information. Supabase stores data on secure servers and employs industry-standard security practices. Your data is stored in the United States.
Photos you upload are stored in Supabase Storage with access controls. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
4. Information You Share Publicly
ArtRoll allows you to make artwork logs public or private. Information you mark as public — including artwork entries, notes, ratings, and profile information — may be visible to other ArtRoll users and, depending on settings, to the general public. Please be mindful of what you choose to share publicly.
5. Third-Party Services
ArtRoll uses the following third-party services:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (Supabase Privacy Policy)
- Wikimedia / Wikipedia API — used to fetch publicly available artwork images. No personal data is sent to Wikimedia.
- Mapbox — used for venue location search. Location queries are sent to Mapbox only when you use the venue search feature (Mapbox Privacy Policy)
- Google Fonts — used to load the Jost typeface. Google may collect limited usage data (Google Privacy Policy)
- Google Cloud Vision — when you upload a photo of an artwork, the image may be sent to Google Cloud Vision to suggest a title, artist, and year by reading visible text (such as a wall label) and matching the image against publicly indexed content. These suggestions are shown to you as editable fields and are never saved automatically without your review (Google Privacy Policy)
6. Children's Privacy
ArtRoll is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Your Rights
