About ArtRoll
ArtRoll is your personal art journal and exhibition/venue planner — a place to log the works that resonate with you and plan your next visit. It's yours alone, but it's also a way to connect: share the pieces that move you with family, friends, and fellow art lovers, and discover what stays with them, too.
ArtRoll isn't about being told what a piece means. It's about engaging with the art you enjoy on your own terms — keeping it close, returning to it freely, whether you own the artwork or not. It's not a replacement for seeing art in person — just a companion to help you remember, and plan where you'd like to wander next on your own and with others in your own city and beyond.
At heart, it's an invitation to take time after looking at an art work — to find the words for what you feel, or simply to come back to the same work, even when the words don't come.
Use Guide
Art
This page shows a feed of public art entries from other users. Entries can be filtered by users you follow ("Following"), by geographic proximity ("Nearby"), or by recency ("This week").
Exhibition
This page shows a feed of exhibitions. Entries can be filtered by venues you subscribe to ("Subscribing"), and further filtered by status ("Current," "Upcoming," "Past"). Users can toggle between viewing all cities or searching for a specific one. Users can also set their home city in Settings to use as a default. Users can mark an exhibition they've seen as "Viewed," or save one they're interested in as "Bookmarked" — both will then show up under their Journal.
ArtRoll administrators and verified Professional Users can add or edit info for exhibitions held at a venue they own or manage. Please reach out to ArtRoll at info@myartroll.com to enroll as a Professional User, subject to verification.
Venue
This page shows a feed of venues, either as a list or on a map. Entries can be filtered by status — "Viewed," "Bookmarked," or simply "Other Venues." Users can toggle between viewing all cities or searching for a specific one. Users can also set their home city in Settings to use as a default. Users can mark a venue as "Viewed" if they've already visited, or "Bookmarked" if they're interested in going — both will show up under their Journal. Users can also browse "Other Venues" to discover places they haven't been to yet.
ArtRoll administrators and verified Professional Users can add or edit info for a venue they own or manage. Please reach out to ArtRoll at info@myartroll.com to enroll as a Professional User, subject to verification.
Journal
Any signed-in user can create entries for the artworks they've logged. This is also where users can find their exhibitions and venues — either Viewed or Bookmarked. Under Art, there's also a Timeline view showing all entries in chronological order by the year the artwork was created.

Venue Management (Admin)
Verify the person owns/works at the venue by email first (info@myartroll.com), then grant them here. They'll be able to edit that venue's info and add exhibitions there — nothing else, and never reviews.
Merge Venue Names (Admin)
If the same real venue shows up more than once because people typed its name differently (e.g. "Met" vs "The Metropolitan Museum of Art"), merge them here. The alias will consolidate everywhere — Map, List, Journal — without changing anyone's existing logs.
